Saturday’s benefit for Noah Lear and his family will go on at Bucyrus High School, but there have been some additions to the original plans.

The benefit will be from 4 to 8 Saturday evening and all proceeds will go to Noah’s family to assist with his medical costs and final expenses.

The 16-year-old died following an accident while he was playing basketball at a Bucyrus church. The pole at the outdoor court broke and along with the backboard and rim fell on Lear’s neck and head.

The accident occurred Feb. 27 and he died on March 16.

Bucyrus graduate and Nashville recording artist Rob Skaggs will perform at the benefit. Skaggs also sang at Lear’s funeral.

For those wishing to donate but unable to attend Saturday’s benefit, an account for Noah Lear is at the Firelands Credit Union in Bucyrus. Those wishing to donate items for the silent auction may contact Leann Quaintance at 419-569-5642 or Sonya Young at 419-617-6939.
