MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Renaissance Youth Opera Theatre is bringing a timeless musical theater classic to the local stage later this month with four upcoming performances of Gilbert and Sullivan’s “H.M.S. Pinafore.”

Under the direction of Lori Turner, the student production will run Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, June 28, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

The performances will take place inside the Renaissance Theatre’s Theatre 166 space. Part of the Mechanics Bank Education Series, the production receives additional support from Buckeye Express Car Wash, Inc.

General admission tickets are free for both adults and students. Because seating is limited inside the venue, organizers strongly encourage patrons to make advance reservations. Tickets can be reserved now through the Renaissance Box Office, by phone, or online at rentickets.org.

“H.M.S. Pinafore” is a classic comic operetta filled with romance, mistaken identities, and social satire, all taking place aboard a British ship. The show features a talented cast of 22 youth performers ranging from second through 12th grade (ages 7 to 18).

The student actors hail from across the region, including Mansfield, Shelby, Lexington, Ontario, and Ashland. To give more students hands-on performance experience, the roles have been double-cast, meaning audiences will see a shifting lineup of performers depending on which of the four shows they attend.

The cast features Ella Aquino, Breah Boyd, Estel Bramlage, Evelyn Brumagin, Lillian Brumagin, Olivia Brumagin, Evalina Curtis, Olive Evans, Violet Fridley, Eliana King, Marilena Kruer, Steliana Kruer, Toby Lux, Elizabeth Pocock, Madelyn Rice, Gianna-Cosette Rohl, Caroline Secrist, Evelyn Shaw, Molly Spoon, Halle Williams, Harper Williams, and Abby Yoak.

The youth opera program provides young area performers with immersive, hands-on experience in acting, singing, dancing, and technical theater under the guidance of industry professionals.

Local businesses interested in supporting these education and community arts initiatives can still secure additional sponsorship opportunities. Inquiries can be directed to Grace Riegel, Development and Executive Affairs Coordinator, at grace@mansfieldtickets.com.
