The Crawford County Justice System continue to fight the onslaught of addiction and illegal drugs in local communities. Out of Tuesday’s 23 arraignments in Common Pleas Court on felony indictments handed down by the Grand Jury, 10 were specific drug charges.

The other indictments were on charges that run the gamut from theft to burglary, to forgery to felonious assault and felony vandalism.

Thomas Arrendondo was arraigned on four drug-related felonies although he has already had numerous hearings on the charges involving meth manufacture and possession. Tuesday’s arraignment was merely a formality for Arrendondo where bond was set at $1 million by Judge Sean Leuthold.

David Franklin also appeared in Common Pleas for a hearing on Tuesday morning, the lone hearing that was not an indictment in the morning session. Franklin’s appearance was for an initial hearing on a motion to revoke his status in the intervention in lieu of conviction program. Franklin is alleged to have stolen merchandise from a retail store and then failing to report the conviction of that offense to his probation officer.

At his court appearance Tuesday Franklin also tested positive for opiates. Franklin was taken into custody immediately and bond was set at $100,000. Adam Stone was appointed as his attorney and the case continued for a later hearing.
