The Bucyrus Public Library is now hiring for a part-time circulation desk assistant. Assistants work 15-24 hours weekly, including evenings and some weekends. Applicants should have exceptional computer and communication skills.
This position requires considerable contact with the public. Under the direct supervision of the Circulation Supervisor, assistants will ensure smooth operation of a variety of tasks. This includes communicating with and assisting patrons in an effective manner, both in person and over the phone; providing direct service to the public by checking materials in and out, issuing library cards, updating patron account information, processing interlibrary loans, assisting patrons with the use of computers, copier, and other equipment, and handling other circulation procedures and concerns.
