BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—New Day Ministries is seeking community support as its food pantry struggles to meet a growing need.
Bishop Ted Thomas, the ministry’s leader, said people on fixed incomes are often forced to choose between paying for rent, medicine, and food. The pantry, located at 133 N. Sandusky Street, serves residents from several counties, with many traveling from as far away as Columbus and Dayton.
The ministry relies on donations of canned goods and money to help purchase supplies. The sale of donated clothing and furniture also helps offset high operational costs.
Thomas emphasized the importance of treating everyone with respect and encouraged the community to help. “I think the church needs to take a bigger step into the community,” he said.
New Day Ministries is open to anyone who needs help and accepts donations at its location.
