BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Crawford County Arts Center is thriving in its new location at 117 N Sandusky Ave. in downtown Bucyrus, having moved in January. Kaylee Powers from the Arts Center recently shared exciting updates, including expanded capabilities and the launch of a unique art initiative.

The new space offers enhanced opportunities for classes, including sewing and more advanced adult programs, alongside their regular free children’s programming. A significant addition is the ability to host private events, with a full kitchen available for birthdays, graduation parties, and other gatherings. The Arts Center can even facilitate art activities for private groups.

Those interested in renting the facility can find details on the Arts Center’s new website, crawfordcountyartscenter.com, under the “Event Rentals” tab, which includes information on capacity, square footage, and pricing.

Upcoming events at the new location include the first annual Mother’s Day Tea Party, encouraging attendees to dress up for a traditional tea experience combined with a watercolor painting class using tea as the medium. The event is open to both children and adults. The Arts Center is also developing partnerships for Father’s Day activities, with details to be announced.

A groundbreaking new program called Art to You is being rolled out across Crawford County. This initiative installs art from local artists in various locations, such as doctor’s offices, lobbies, and waiting rooms, making art more accessible in everyday life. Each installation features a QR code that allows viewers to purchase prints of the displayed artwork or other pieces from the Arts Center’s online gallery. Local printing company A1 Printing handles the high-quality printing and shipping.

The new Arts Center location also functions as a retail gallery, where almost all displayed artwork is available for purchase. The space doubles as a classroom, and visitors are welcome to shop during regular hours (Mondays 6-9 PM, Tuesdays 1-6 PM), even while classes are in session. The class schedule is available online and at the door.
