BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—A serious criminal indictment has been issued for Deborah Ann Miller, 64, of Bucyrus, in connection with multiple counts of grand theft involving firearms.

The charges stem from incidents occurring between February 24 and March 4, 2025, at the Hideaway Country Inn, located at 1601 SR-4 in Bucyrus, Ohio.

According to the indictment, Miller is accused of deliberately stealing several firearms owned by Jack Darling. The firearms are classified as “dangerous” under Ohio law.

The charges include three counts of grand theft related to the following items:

  1. Count 1: An Aero Precision AR Pistol (serial number M4-0497797). Miller allegedly obtained or exerted control over the firearm without the consent of Darling or any authorized person, thus violating Ohio law.

  2. Count 2: Theft of a Ruger .17 HMR rifle. Similar allegations apply, with Miller accused of knowingly taking the rifle without consent during the same period and location.

  3. Count 3: A Savage Axis .22 rifle. This count also reflects charges of grand theft under the same circumstances as the previous counts.

Each count is a third-degree felony and is punishable by up to 36 months in prison.

Crawford County Now reached out to Joel Spitzer, Miller’s attorney, for comment. Spitzer told Crawford County Now that Miller looks forward to the facts coming out regarding these charges.

Miller remains free on a personal recognizance bond. A pretrial date will be set in the near future. Crawford County Now will continue to cover this developing news story.
