In the battle of State Route 602 between Buckeye Central and Colonel Crawford it was the Will Kirkpatrick show as the Eagles trumped the Bucks 48-26.
While Kirkpatrick went 4 of 9 for 106 yards and a touchdown through the air, Kirkpatrick’s best performance came on the ground as the QB amassed 293 yards on the ground on 26 attempts and 5 touchdowns.
Colonel Crawford jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter on a 17 yard run from Kirkpatrick, and a 42 yard pass from Kirkpatrick to Owen Adams. Buckeye Central got on the board with 5:53 to go in the half as QB Grant Loy scored from 10 yards out, Buckeye Central struck again with 2:33 left in the half when Jeff Hall intercepted a Kirkpatrick pass and returned the interception for 70 yards to bring B.C. within 2 points 14-12. Colonel Crawford and Kirkpatrick would strike before the half was over as the QB scored on an 11 yard run to put the Eagles up 21-12.
The Bucks would close in on the Eagles’ lead on the opening drive of the third quarter on an Athan Moyer 4 yard run and two point conversion on a pass from Loy to Wechter to put the Bucks down 21-20. Kirkpatrick would answer back on Crawford’s ensuing drive with an 18 yard run for a touchdown with seven minutes left in the third to put Crawford up 28-20.
Buckeye Central’s final score of the game came with 4:25 left in the third when Loy rushed for a 28 yard touchdown to edge B.C. to a 28-26 deficit. Kirkpatrick would score two more rushing touchdowns, and Dylan Kinsley would add another Colonel Crawford score for the 48-26 final.
Adams was Colonel Crawford’s leading receiver with 72 yards on three receptions and a touchdown.
Loy led B.C. through the air and on the ground with 213 yards on 22 of 38 attempts passing, and 155 yards rushing on 26 attempts for 2 scores.
Scott Heydinger was the leading receiver for the Bucks with 98 yards and 10 receptions.
With the victory Colonel Crawford improves to 7-1 on the season with a 5-1 N10 record. Buckeye Central falls to 5-3 with a 3-3 N10 record.

In MOAC action Galion upended Fairbanks 70-7 behind Tigers’ QB Chase Cooke’s 214 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Drake Barnett led the Tigers on the ground with 179 yards and 3 TD on 9 carries.
Harrison Ivy led Tigers receivers with 94 yards and a score on 3 receptions.
In other action around Crawford County Crestline picked up their first victory of the season defeating St. Joseph’s of Fremont 36-22, Bucyrus was defeated by Carey 36-0, Wynford beat Upper Sandusky 34-7.
