BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—As the holiday season quickly approaches, the Salvation Army is gearing up for its most important fundraising event of the year, the Red Kettle Campaign. This annual campaign not only provides aid to those in need during the holiday season but also supports the Greater Bucyrus Area throughout the year.

This year, the Salvation Army is continuing the tradition of “Pretty Painted Pots” and is inviting local organizations, businesses, and schools to participate. Participants are encouraged to decorate one of the Salvation Army’s kettles with an image that depicts Christmas. Additionally, each participating group is asked to volunteer as a Bell Ringer for at least one shift during the season.

The decorated kettles, known as Pretty Painted Pots, will be on display throughout the holiday season, accompanied by a Certificate of Acknowledgment for the artist or group. A vote for the most creative, artistic, and people’s choice will take place during the annual Kettle Kick-off Breakfast on November 15. All Pretty Painted Pots should be returned to the Salvation Army by November 11, and participants are asked not to unveil their masterpieces before then.

“We hope that Pretty Painted Pots is an opportunity for community fun and creativity,” said Kelly Ely, Community Connector for the Salvation Army. “To participate, please contact me at kelly.ely@use.salvationarmy.org or call 419-562-0071. We look forward to hearing from you!”

The funds raised during the Red Kettle Campaign are crucial for the Salvation Army’s efforts to provide for those in need throughout the year. With the community’s help, the Salvation Army can continue to support the Greater Bucyrus Area.
