Two first-time felony offenders appeared in Crawford County Common Pleas Court on Monday to face felony drug charges.

Judge Sean Leuthold sentenced 27-year-old Dustin Potter to five years on community control. Potter had previously pleaded guilty to fifth-degree felony possession and was back for sentencing following a pre-sentence investigation.

Potter must also complete a drug and alcohol treatment program as part of his community control and pay a mandatory drug fine. His driver’s license is also suspended for six months.

Twenty-year-old Tashawn Jones pleaded guilty Monday to fifth-degree felony possession after he admitted to having cocaine found during a traffic stop. Jones remains incarcerated on bond while waiting on a pre-sentence investigation.

The recommended sentence from the prosecutor is five years of community control, mandatory drug fine, alcohol and drug treatment and driver’s license suspension. Jones will also be required to forfeit any drugs and drug paraphernalia seized by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
