CRESTLINE, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Galion-Crestline Chamber of Commerce celebrated the grand opening of a new bakery, The Tattered Apron, on Wednesday, July 10. Located at 302 N. Seltzer Street, the bakery is set to serve the Crestline community from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, and 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Sunday.
Owners Tommy and Crystal Payton expressed their excitement about bringing their “Classic Old World Style Pastries with a little Southern sass” to the area. “Our products are made from scratch in our kitchen, just like grandma used to make,” they said.

Crestline Mayor Linda Horning-Pitt welcomed the new business, stating, “Congratulations to Tommy and Crystal Payton on the grand opening of The Tattered Apron. Their passion for creating delicious, homemade pastries and their commitment to community support truly embody the spirit of Crestline.”
The Tattered Apron is not only committed to serving delicious pastries but also to supporting the local community. The bakery plans to provide an annual scholarship for a high school student interested in culinary arts and aims to help other local businesses thrive. “We strive to help other businesses become successful as well, because we’re all part of that hometown, small business, family-oriented market that needs to help each other out,” the Paytons explained.
The decision to open in Crestline was influenced by the welcoming community and the need for a local bakery. “We found a building in Crestline that fit our needs, and there weren’t any other physical bakeries open in town, so that’s why we decided to open here,” said the Paytons.
In addition to serving pastries, The Tattered Apron plans to host community events such as coffee demonstrations and sip, snack, and paint nights. “We want The Tattered Apron to be a place for people to enjoy our treats and create lasting memories,” the owners shared.
