Geraldine “Jerry” Logan, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2024. Her departure leaves a permanent void in the hearts of all who knew her.

She was born August, 27, 1932 to parents Wallace Harlan & Juanita Inez (Hopkins) Seckel in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Jerry was a remarkable woman who brought joy to everyone around her. She found peace in watching birds and tending to her garden. When she wasn’t outside, you could often find her engrossed in the pages of Regency novels, swept away by tales of romance and adventure.

She was not only a lover of stories but also a talented artist and seamstress. Her paintings were filled with vibrant colors, and with her sewing skills she would make clothes for her children. Her home reflected her artistic touch, always cozy and welcoming, thanks to her knack for decoration. She enjoyed going to flea markets as well as used book stores to find something that struck her. Her journaling and scrapbooks are a wonderful treasure for her family to look through.

But perhaps Jerry’s most famous creations were her sourdough coffee cakes and biscuits. These delectable treats brought joy to countless gatherings and family meals, leaving a lasting impression on all who tasted them.

A devoted and active member of Peace Lutheran Church, she found comfort and community within its walls since her confirmation. Even when unable to attend physically, her spirit remained connected to the congregation, as her faith continued to guide and sustain her.

She is survived by children Sue Ann (Thomas) Stewart, Mary Lou “Boo” (Dennis) Lutz, Robert L. (Julie) Logan and Jon (Betty) Logan; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother Walter H. Seckel; sisters-in-law Treva Seckel and Beverly Leavey as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband of 66 years Richard L. Logan; siblings Marjorie Seckel, Joel Seckel and Nancy (Dick) Jamerson; sisters-in-law Joyce Gehrisch and Betty Seckel as well as twin great-grandchildren.

Snyder Funeral Homes is honored to serve Jerry’s family and encourages you to leave a fond message on her tribute wall.
