Marion – Troopers from the Marion Post continue to investigate a crash that occurred on June 8, 2024, at approximately 12:18 AM, on State Route 37 in Marion County.
The crash involved a 2018 Harley Davidson FLHTKL Ultra Limited Low, driven by Jason M. Edwards, age 51, of Marion, Ohio. The rear passenger was Danielle N. McCormack, age 38, of Larue, Ohio. The preliminary investigation indicated Mr. Edwards was traveling northbound on State Route 37 when a deer entered the roadway. Mr. Edwards struck the deer, causing the Harley Davidson to overturn onto its side.
Mr. Edwards was transported by Marion Township EMS to Marion General Hospital with serious injuries. Ms. McCormack was transported by Scioto Valley EMS to Marion General Hospital with life threatening injuries. Mr. Edwards and Ms. McCormack were later flown to Grant Medical Center in Columbus. Neither of them were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
Later that same day, June 8, 2024, Ms. McCormack succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at Grant Medical Center.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by Scioto Valley Fire and EMS, Marion Township EMS, and Ron’s Towing.
