The Colonel Crawford Lady Eagles won their 20th game of the season yesterday with an 11-1, six-inning victory over Crestline.
The win in the Division IV sectional championship game also advances Colonel Crawford to district play next week in Shelby.
Crestline jumped out to an early lead with a run in the top of the first on a Lydia Tadda leadoff single, two fielders choices and an RBI single by Ellen Daily.
Colonel Crawford responded in the bottom of the first as 10 Lady Eagles batted with six runs scoring on four hits including a triple by Jada Klingenberger and a double by Abbie Bradshaw. The Eagles’ Sydney Studer led off the fifth with a home run and Colonel Crawford scored four more times in the sixth.
Studer allowed Crestline only one hit after the first inning, striking out three.
Crestline’s Sara Toy, in relief of starter Caylee Jackson, struck out 10.
