The first Jim Grandy Bucyrus Boys Tennis Invitational to be held this Saturday, April 25.
Grandy was the successful long time tennis coach at Bucyrus High School who developed several boys and girls tennis players who advanced to the district and state level during his tenure. Since Grandy passed on, his son Tom has spearheaded fundraising efforts for the continued development of the Bucyrus Community Courts in his dad’s memory. This invitational is named in Jim Grandy’s honor.
The invite will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 25 at the Bucyrus High School tennis courts on Redmen Way. Teams participating in the event will be Bucyrus, Marion Harding, River Valley, Galion, Upper Sandusky, and Mansfield St. Peters. The first three finishers in all singles and doubles will receive a medal. The team with the most points will receive a team trophy.
This invitational is open to the public.
