Wynford will be well represented at the 2015 Ohio High School Football Coaches Association North-South Classic.

Clye SkidmoreRoyals’ seniors Cycle Skidmore and Austin Shutler will play for the North’s Division IV-VII team. Wynford head coach Gabe Helbert will be on the sidelines of a member of that squad’s coaching staff as well.

Both Skidmore and Shutler have signed national letters of intent to accept scholarships to the University of Findlay where they will continue their football and academic careers.

Helbert led the Royals to the inaugural N-10 conference championship this past fall. The Royals finished 11-2 went to week three of the playoffs and the Division VI regional finals.

Those three will not be the only Wynford connection at this year’s classic.

Former Wynford and current Wapakoneta head coach Travis Moyer will be on the coaching staff for the Division I-III South squad. In his first year at Wapakoneta, Moyer’s team went 12-1. Their only loss of the year came in four overtimes in the Division III regional finals.

The Annual North-South Classic will be played April 25 at Dayton’s Welcome Stadium. The DIV-VII game will start at 2 p.m., the DI-III game will follow that evening at 6.
