As Sheriff of Crawford County, I will be joining Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS), recognizing Friday, January 9th, 2015 as “Law Enforcement Appreciation Day”.
I can tell you first hand that when you pin the badge on your uniform, the thought of survival and will I see my family again, is common. Each day, 780,000 Law Enforcement Officers put the badge on, and wonder the same thing. Officers go to work each day knowing that they may face dangerous situations. Law Enforcement works during unfavorable weather and on holidays and weekends. Most Officers will tell you that it is not a job, but a calling and an opportunity to make their community a better place to live.
I want to take this opportunity to thank all Law Enforcement Officers of Crawford County and this great nation for the service that they provide, and for their commitment to making our community safe. Your dedication does not go unnoticed.
I invite the citizens of Crawford County to recognize January 9th, 2015 as “Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.”
Respectfully,
Scott M. Kent
Crawford County Sheriff
