The City of Bucyrus has announced its holiday garbage schedule.
Garbage pick-up for Thursday, Dec. 25 will be picked up a day later on Friday, Dec. 26 in observation of Christmas.
Garbage pick-up for Thursday, Jan. 1 will be picked up a day early on Wednesday, Dec. 31. Pick-up for Friday, Jan. 2 will be picked up the following week on Monday, Jan. 5. There will be no pick-up on Jan. 1 or Jan. 2 in observation of the New Year.
The city asks that you place your garbage out at the curb by 7 a.m. on Dec. 26 and 31 and Jan. 5 as they will be running double routes that day.
Extra paper and cardboard will also be picked up on scheduled garbage days through Jan. 9 at no additional charge. The city encourages everyone to recycle.
The city will pick up live Christmas trees at the curb through Jan. 16, or they can be taken to the compost site until Jan. 9. The trees should not be placed in bags and all decorations, lights, and tree stands are to be removed.
All other non-emergency city offices will be closed on Dec. 25, Jan. 1, and Jan. 2 to observe the holidays. If you should have any questions please contact the Service/Safety Director at 419-562-6767 ext. 221.
