When the Bucyrus Area Chamber of Commerce put out the bulletin that they were seeking donations for the city’s street Christmas decorations one community member donated the full amount.
Lorrie Brown of Songbird Cleaning Services stepped up to the plate and donated the $200 needed.
“Christmas is my favorite time of year, as many others, but I just love to be here in the city and look at all the lights and decorations, and that’s one of those things that make it that special at the time,” Brown said.
Brown said she wasn’t looking for a pat on the back for the gesture, but that she looked at it more about building a better community.
“I wasn’t looking for a pat on the back,” Brown said. “It is part of being human. It isn’t always about money whether it is help or advice it is about building a better community.”
Songbird Cleaning Services have been in business since 2001. Just recently they opened a new office on West Warren Street.
