So many people are hurting in so many ways. Maybe you can be an answer to someone’s pain. In the two years since Good Hope Lutheran Church in Bucyrus began its Stephen Ministry, it has been such a good program that the church wants to encourage other churches to start one.

To introduce others to its benefits, Good Hope is hosting a half-day Stephen Ministry workshop on Saturday morning, Sept. 20, from 9 to 1 at the church. Registration begins at 8 AM, and refreshments will be served.

If you go, you will learn why more than 11,000 congregations representing more than 150 Christian denominations use the Stephen Series for training lay people to do one-on-one caring ministry. You will also learn skills by experiencing a sample of the training Stephen Ministers receive through two sessions, “Ministering to Those Experiencing Grief” and “How to Care in a Distinctively Christian Way.”

The cost of the workshop is $15 per person or $50 for a group of four or more from the same congregation. For more information or to register for this half-day Stephen Ministry Introductory Workshop, call Stephen Ministries at (314) 428-2600, or register online at www.stephenministry/workshop.
