CRESTLINE—A Marion man was arrested in the parking lot of Crestline McDonald’s restaurant on Thursday as the result of a joint investigation by the Crestline Police Department, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, the Galion and Bucyrus Police Departments, METRICH and the Ohio State Patrol.
Robert Lee Toombs Jr., 33, was arrested on three counts of drug trafficking in a school zone. Officers seized cash, drug instruments and drugs during the raid but Crestline Police Chief Jeff Shook said the amount seized does not reflect the true story of the arrest.
“The cooperation between police agencies in Crawford County is something that helps us all and I would like to thank several agency heads for allowing this to happen. (Crawford County) Sheriff Scott Kent, (Galion) Chief Brian Saterfield, (Bucyrus) Chief Neil Assenheimer, Lt. Scott Rike of the Ohio State Patrol and (New Washington) Chief Jeremy Schick are all to be commended for bringing the law enforcement “team” together for the citizens of Crawford County,” said Shook in a press release on Thursday afternoon. “I am fortunate as the Chief of the Crestline Police Department to have such valuable assets as peers and that our staff is truly thankful for their support.”
