The third annual Fat Cattle Show and Sale was held Tuesday evening at the United Producers stockyards in Bucyrus. Approximately 450 head of cattle in pens of three weighing about 4,000 pounds were sold at prices ranging from $1.50 to $1.65 per pound.
Local cattleman Glen Feichtner talked about the quality of the animals sold.
“We get some of the best cattle from the Northern part of Ohio here,” Feichtner said. “It’s a good time we’ve been talking about doing this for years. This is of course the third one they’ve had and it’s really catching on and getting a lot of people coming to this.”
John Albert is the facility manager at Bucyrus. Johnny Regula was the auctioneer for the sale that attracted more than 200 people from as far away as Kenton and Napoleon.
Cattle sold at the auction included beef steers, beef heifers and Holstein steers.
