BUCYRUS―A high-speed chase on Wednesday evening ended with the arrest of a Bucyrus man.

At 9:09 p.m., Bucyrus Police officers were alerted that Galion Police were in pursuit of a vehicle traveling westbound on Ohio 19 near Ohio 602. The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office had joined the pursuit that entered Bucyrus on Hopley Avenue, traveled on to the South Lane and East Rensselaer Street area. The pursuit ended in the 600 block of East Rensselaer Street near Wiley Street.

Michael E. Campbell, 48, of East Rensselaer Street, was arrested on a multitude of charges related to felony fleeing and operating a vehicle under the influence.

No injuries or crashes were reported despite Campbell’s reckless operation. He was taken to Bucyrus Community Hospital and was medically cleared before being taken to the Crawford County Justice Center to be held for court. The vehicle he had been driving was towed from the scene.

8:41 a.m.-Officers responded to a domestic disturbance and arrested a 30-year-old female in the 600 block of Rogers Street for possession of drug abuse instruments. She was issued a court date.

8:49 a.m.-A resident in the 200 block of Whetstone Street reported gas siphoned from her vehicle overnight.

11:46 a.m.-Officers assisted EMS personnel in the Bucyrus Plaza area at the scene of a death by natural causes.

12:47 p.m.-A resident in the 400 block of West Charles Street reported the windshield broken on her van sometime this morning.

1:26 p.m.-Victoria Hord, 25 was arrested for misuse of 911 and obstructing official business in the 500 block of Garnet Court. She was released pending a court appearance.

2:03 p.m.-Officers investigated a report of a trespasser in the 1200 block of Monnett Street. The person left the area.

4:11 p.m.- A private property accident reported in the 800 block of High Street. The driver of a rented U-Haul drove through a back yard leaving ruts and damaging a fence.

4:22 p.m.- Officers attempted to serve a warrant in the area of North Sandusky Avenue and Dudley Street.

4:38 p.m.- A 911 hang-up call was investigated in the 1200 block of South Walnut Street. It was a misdial.

4:43 p.m.- A traffic complaint was made in the 600 block of East Rensselaer Street.

4:57 p.m.- A bicycle was reported stolen in the 400 block of North Walnut Street. It was described as a red and black road bike, either a Huffy or Schwinn.

6:15 p.m.- A hit-skip accident was reported in the 700 block of Beverly Drive. A Ford Focus owner reported their parked car was struck by an unknown passing vehicle. It did not appear to be related to the U-Haul truck driver that was in the area damaging property.

7:05 p.m.-A traffic accident was investigated in the 600 block of Earl Street. A U-Haul truck struck a utility pole guide wire and a transformer exploded. The Bucyrus Fire Department was called to the scene regarding the transformer. A traffic citation was issued to the driver of the U-Haul, Howard Gettings. This was the same U-Haul from an earlier private property damage complaint. Laura Gettings claimed responsibility for the earlier property damage.

7:17 p.m.- Brent Stidham and Jennifer Paynter were arrested in the 600 block of Earl Street on Crawford County warrants. They were located as involved parties with the U-Haul driver. Stidham was taken to the Crawford County Justice Center to be held for court. Paynter was advised to contact the court. Their vehicle was towed from the scene.

7:34 p.m.- A disturbance was investigated in the 700 block of Wilbur Street. It was a roommate dispute about possessions.

10:20 p.m.-A resident in the 1900 block of Whetstone Street reported money stolen by someone she knows. A person borrowed money to get sundries but never returned with goods.

12:28 a.m.-Officers checked the 1100 block of Hopley Avenue after receiving a report of a possible bonfire in the area. There was no fire located.

1:07 a.m.-A resident in the 300 block of Short Street reported his house egged overnight.
