GALION — At 7:01 p.m. on Thursday, Galion Police Department officers investigated a report that the Moose Lodge, located in the 500 block of East South Market Street, was open and serving food and drinks despite state mandates regarding containing the spread of COVID-19 prohibiting gatherings of 10 or more people and temporarily closing bars and clubs.
Officers were advised by the members that they were holding a meeting to determine how to proceed after the mandates were ordered by Gov. Mike DeWine to attempt to slow the spread of the virus.
Officers advised the group to check with the Galion Health Department regarding meetings involving a large group of people and issued verbal warnings for holding a large gathering and serving alcohol.
