BUCYRUS — A baker’s dozen of arraignments were held in Crawford County Common Pleas Court on Monday.
Lisa Beachy, 41, of Bucyrus appeared for a bond revocation hearing. Beachy had been free on a personal recognizance bond since February when she was charged with theft, a fourth-degree felony punishable with up to 18 months in prison. Beachy was taken into custody after she tested positive for meth which was a violation of the terms of her personal recognizance bond.
Judge Sean Leuthold allowed the state and defense counsel the opportunity to argue for their bond recommendations. Assistant County Prosecutor Ryan Hoovler asked the court to impose a $50,000 bond to protect Beachy and the public from her continued drug use.
Defense Attorney Brian Gernert told the court his client had no criminal history and that she wanted to maintain her employment. He said his client needed mental health treatment.
Leuthold ordered bond in the amount of $50,000. He noted that Beachy was now prison eligible but that is not his first choice for her.
“I want a detailed treatment plan in place to address mental health, and addiction,” Leuthold said. Beachy was returned to the Crawford County Justice Center until the next hearing.
