There was a lot of action going on Friday night but definitely not the kind the city would encourage. The Bucyrus Police Department totaled eight arrests for that night alone, with an additional three more people being arrested over the weekend.

The first spate of arrests started just after 3:30 in the afternoon when twenty-six-year-old Ian Dudley of Bucyrus was arrested for possession of drugs. He was also issued a traffic citation for operation at a stop sign.

Nearly an hour later, officers arrested fifty-seven-year-old Debra Wilson of Bucyrus for shoplifting at Walmart. She was issued a criminal summons for theft and released with a pending court date. Thirty-nine-year-old John Hager of Bucyrus was arrested less than 30 minutes later for possession of drugs. He was also issued a criminal summons and released with a pending court date.

The police department then handled four arrests on various charges within a 20-minute time period. Forty-year-old James Thompson of Bucyrus was arrested at 5:39 p.m. for violation of a civil protection order. He was taken to the Crawford County Justice Center to be held for a court appearance. Twenty-one-year-old Seth Horsley of Bucyrus (Crawford County warrant), twenty-two-year-old Martin Nolen (possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia), and eighteen-year-old Joanna Howell (possession of marijuana) were arrested just after 5:50 p.m. All three were issued citations with court dates and were released.

Twenty-eight-year-old Nicholas Biederman of Bucyrus was arrested for trespassing at Walmart later that night. He was issued a criminal summons and released with a pending court date. Biederman was also served with a city income tax summons.

Forty-year-old Samuel Benedict and twenty-nine-year-old Eric Shadley, both of Bucyrus, were arrested early Saturday evening for possession of marijuana. They were issued minor misdemeanor citations and released with a pending court date.

Forty-year-old Ryan Keene was arrested on warrants out of Crawford County and the Carey Police Department late Saturday night.

Twenty-seven-year-old Dustin Nolen and thirty-six-year-old Carrie Cain were given dates to appear in court for warrants out of Crawford County.

Galion police picked up thirty-two-year-old Rickey Allen Jordan Jr. Sunday at Quay Drugs in Galion. Police received a report concerning a person at the drugstore that allegedly had a stolen prescription pad, which was later found concealed in Jordan’s right shoe. He was charged with deception to obtain a dangerous drug, illegal processing of drug documents, receiving stolen property, and resisting arrest. Jordan had also been charged with disorderly conduct on May 1.

In unrelated incidents, fifty-nine-year-old Dwight A. Knipp Sr. was charged with theft and twenty-four-year-old Quentin M. Reeves was charged with OVI, failure to control, and leaving the scene of an accident.

A tip about suspicious activity from a concerned citizen led Bucyrus police to arrest twenty-two-year-old Jesse Sanger for drug paraphernalia possession in the 200 block of E. Mansfield St. Monday afternoon.

Bucyrus police also arrested twenty-six-year-old Scotty Patterson Jr. Monday evening at his residence. Patterson was charged with OVI, driving under suspension, and open container. He was issued citation for all charges and was released.
