BUCYRUS — Officers with the Bucyrus Police Department are looking for a Bucyrus man after he fled the scene of a crash that damaged a Bucyrus residence.

According to reports he received from eyewitnesses, BPD Lt. Tom Walker said 34-year-old Christopher Davidson was the subject of a search after he reportedly fled the scene of a crash at the intersection of Prospect and Wiley streets and Woodlawn Avenue.

“When we arrived, there was a female standing outside,” Walker said. “We were told by witnesses there was a male driver. The male driver fled on foot.”

Davidson is wanted for fleeing the scene of an accident.

Eyewitnesses told Walker the vehicle was northbound on Prospect Street when it failed to stop at a stop sign and traveled over a curb and into the residence.

Walker said no skid marks on the roadway indicated the driver did not attempt to slow down before striking the residence with the vehicle. Eyewitness said the vehicle was traveling approximately 25-30 miles per hour.

Walker said Amy Davidson, Christopher’s wife who also was in the vehicle, was the registered owner and was cited for wrongful entrustment. Walker said she was in the back seat and her juvenile son, who also left the scene, was in the front passenger seat.

Amy Davidson was seen by medical staff on scene and released after she refused to be transported.

The residents of the house were home at the time of the crash. One woman reportedly was on a couch next to the area where the vehicle struck. The residents told officers on scene no injuries occurred.

The damaged appeared to be structural, according to Walker. There did not appear to be any utility damage.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by Carl’s Towing and Auto Sales. The Bucyrus Fire Department and Portsmouth Emergency Ambulance Service also responded to the scene.
