Alexander Henize, 28, originally of Bucyrus and now of Gahanna was arrested after five kilos, approximately 11 pounds, of fentanyl was found in his residence when officers responded to a domestic violence call early the morning of Dec. 26.

A woman called officers claiming her boyfriend (Henize) was holding her at gunpoint and would not allow her to leave the residence.

When officers arrived, Henize agreed to exit the residence and entered police custody without incident, according to a CPD Facebook post.

The victim agreed to allow officers to enter the residence to search for the firearm where they located the Fentanyl and $20,000 cash, according to Columbus Police Department Information Officer Sgt. Dean Worthington.

The Facebook post said Henize was charged with aggravated menacing and more charges are to come.

Worthington said there is no known connections to where the fentanyl came from or where it was going as the case remains open and under investigation by the narcotics bureau.
