Renewing their rivalry on the basketball court the Bucyrus Redmen kept it close with the Wynford Royals early on, however the Royals emerged victorious Saturday night with a score of 49-34.
The Redmen appeared ready for a classic dog fight as they outscored the Royals 12-11 in the first quarter. The Royals’ outscored the Redmen in the second quarter 13-8 to take a 24-20 lead into the half. Wynford continued to outpace Bucyrus in the third extending their lead to 36-28 to enter the fourth quarter.
Jack Reed led Royals scorers with 15 points while Zach Hoffman added another 10 points as the Royals improved to 1-1 overall on the young season and a 1-0 N-10 record.
Bucyrus’ Harley Robinson led all Redmen with 12 points. With the loss the Redmen fall to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in the N-10.

In other boys basketball action around the county Mohawk defeated Buckeye Central 46-44, Carey defeated Colonel Crawford 50-43, and Kidron Central Christian defeated Crestline 51-39. In non-county N-10 action Upper Sandusky defeated Shelby 74-65.
In girls N-10 action Riverdale defeated Bucyrus 80-44.
