The stage was set on Friday night in Bucyrus as the Copper Kettle was up for grabs with the Bucyrus Redman hosting the Wynford Royals in week two of high school football. The cross town rivalry game looked to be a battle early on as Bucyrus’ Hayden Johnston caught a touchdown pass from Gavin Lewis to give the Redman an early one score lead.

Wynford, however, got the ball for their first possession and wasted no time getting into the end zone. A seven-play, 55-yard drive capped off by a Zach Hoffman touchdown run would give the Royals a 7-6 lead and they didn’t look back from there. Wynford would go onto score touchdowns on four of their next five drives, while the defense was stifling against the Redman offense. Wynford only allowed 125 yards of total offense on their way to a 48-13 N10 conference victory.

It was the Zach Hoffman show all night long as the Royal QB was eight of 13 passing for 85 yards and rushed for 212 yards on 16 attempts and five touchdowns. Haden Johnston led the offense for the Redman with three receptions for 89 yards and a score.

Week 3 has Wynford (2-0, 1-0 N10) slated to take on Ridgedale (0-2, 0-1 N10) while Bucyrus (0-2, 0-1 N10) welcomes Pleasant.
