Fifty-three local young swimmers took advantage of an opportunity to get all wet and get instruction from long-time Ohio State swim coach Bill Wadley.

Those swimmers, from ages 8 to 18, participated in the Bucyrus White Sharks swim and skills clinic with Wadley on Sunday, January 4 at the Bucyrus YMCA. Wadley has been the Ohio State Swim Coach since 1989 and was the Boys swim coach when current White Sharks Coach Dr. Sarah Nigh-Bruner swam for the Women Swim Team at Ohio State University from 1997-2001.

Coach Bruner describe her relationship with Bill Wadley going to all the way back to OSU swim camps as a youngster and helping Coach Wadley run summer camps when she was swimming for OSU.

The one-day skills clinic at the Bucyrus YMCA focused on technique of all the different strokes, body positions, and video feedback from Coach Wadley and his assistant.

Coach Sarah Bruner stated, “This was an awesome opportunity for all the local swimmers to meet and learn from one of the best in swimming.”

Students from Bucyrus, Colonel Crawford, Galion, Pleasant, and Shelby participated.
