Poised to pick up their fourth win of the season Friday night, the Buckeye Central Bucks had a 41-34 lead over the Carey Blue Devils at the end of the third quarter. Then the fourth quarter happened.
As the minutes faded away into the fourth, so too did the Buckeye Central lead as they were outscored by Carey 20-5 in the final period for a final score of 54-46.
Behind Jacob Shade’s 10 point first half, the Bucks took a 25-23 lead into the half. Shade would add another 12 points in the second half for a game high of 22 points and seven rebounds.
Carey was led by Cody Luzader’s 19 points and six rebounds. Nine of Luzader’s points came from the charity stripe as he went 9 of 10 on free throw attempts.
Bradyen Wentling added 10 points for the Blue Devils, who improved to 4-4 on the season and 4-1 in N10 play.
With the loss Buckeye Central falls to 3-5 on the season and 2-3 in the N10 Conference.

In other action around the N10 Colonel Crawford defeated Ridgedale 72-31, Upper Sandusky downed Bucyrus 83-39, Pleasant beat Wynford 71-49, and Seneca East won their conference game against Mohawk 58-51.
