A heroic effort by an undermanned Bucyrus squad produced a come-from-behind win in overtime over rival Wynford in girls action in the N10 on Friday night. The Lady Redmen gained a little revenge for an earlier loss to the Lady Royals and defended their home court in in the extra frame, 43-39.

Bucyrus was down by as many as 10 in the first quarter, but fought back to trail by just two at halftime, 16-14. Down three points after three quarters, the Lady Redmen finally tied the game in final period. But with the Lady Royals up three with time running out in regulation, Alivia Lewis muscled her way into the lane and somehow got off a shot that went down and completed the three-point play at the foul line with just 7.7 seconds on the clock to knot the score at 35.
Bucyrus scored first in overtime and never allowed the Lady Royals to tie the game again. It was Lewis who iced the game with a late free throw.
Shania Orewiler led the Lady Redmen in scoring with 11 points and Lewis added 10. Bucyrus is now 2-6 in league play and 3-9 overall.
Gretchen Harris paced the Wynford attack with 16 points, including a perfect eight-for-eight at the free throw line. Tara Zinser and Olivia Grove each added eight points. The Lady Royals are now 2-7 in the N10 and 3-11 overall.
