The Galion Graders won their 15th game of the season Monday afternoon in walk-off fashion. Mark Delas drove in Nicholas Riotto in the bottom of the ninth to cap off a come from behind 5-4 win over the Grand Lake Mariners.
After taking a 1-0 lead the Mariners scored the next four runs to take go ahead by three. Galion trimmed the lead to 4-3 in the third but the score remained that way until Galion scored in the seventh to tie the contest. With one out in the ninth, Riotto got his third hit of the game. A Kevin Shrock single put Riotto at second and he scored easily on the base hit by Delas. Besides having three hits in the game, Riotto scored four of Galion’s five runs.
Mark Delas, the seventh Galion pitcher of the game, picked up the win with one inning of hitless relief.
The Graders are 15-22 in their inaugural season with Grand Lake falling to 18-22.
