GALION (Crawford County Now) — Colonel Crawford placed fourth and Galion sixth in the boys division of the Galion Kiwanis Invitational Friday night at Heise Park.

The Lady Eagles came in sixth and Lady Tigers ninth. Wynford was 10th.

Local placers included:

  • Galion’s Jacob Chambers in the boys 100 meters in 10.97.
  • Colonel Crawford’s Avery Powers took first in the boys 300-meter hurdles in 40.50. He also won the long jump at 20 feet, 8 inches.
  • Galion’s 4X100 relay of Camden Kuehlman, Chambers, Samuel Evans and Zach Sallee hit the tape in 43.21 seconds to win the event.
  • Kuehlman captured the boys 400 meters in 51.65.
  • John DeGray of Colonel Crawford placed second in the 400 in 51.93.
  • Lady Eagles Cami Roston was second in the pole vault at 10 feet.
  • Wynford girls were third in the 4X200 as Allison Brewer, Willa Johnson, Eden Cassaro and Ava Fradley went 1:52.59.
  • Colonel Crawford’s Brynn Bruner was third in the 1600 in 5:26.08. She also took third in the 800 in 2:30.34.
  • Luke Christman got fourth in the discus with a throw of 141-3.
  • Roen Thew took fourth in the 300 hurdles in 42.90.

Redmen win at Knoll

NEW LONDON— Bucyrus took part in the Bob Knoll Invitational, a 10-school field. The boys won the 10-school event and the girls were sixth.

The Redmen outpointed Western Reserve 115.5 to 100.

Christian Neal won the 100 meters in 11.88. Ivan Pirnstill took honors in the pole vault at 13 feet.

Karter Boggs won the 1600 meter run in 4:27.90 and captured the 3200 in 9:47.10.

The Redmen 4X200 relay of Maseo Hall, Dashawn Cosey, Dustin Feck and Christian Neal ran a time of 1:35.87 to place second.

Hall added a second in the 300 hurdles with a personal best of 43.15. Cosey, a sophomore, was second in the 200 meters in 24.24 and in the 400 meters in 53.24.

Savannah Clark got a fourth in the discus with a throw of 86 feet, 3 inches. Carey Campbell placed fourth in the 100-meter hurdles in 20.28.

Ella Green placed third in the 1600 meters clocking a PB of 5:58.92 and a fourth in the 800 meters in 2:38.64.

Freshman Cierra Clum recorded a PB of 14.92 in the 100 meters to place fifth.

Bucks, Bulldogs compete

JEROMESVILLE — Buckeye Central and Crestline took part in the Hillsdale Bob Valentine Invitational.

  • The Bucks’ Collin Perry won the high jump, clearing 6 feet. He also took second in the boys 100 meters in 11.25 and in the 200 in 23.25. He added a fourth in the long jump going 20 feet, 3.75 inches.
  • The girls 4X800 relay won the event in 10:51.71.
  • Sophia Martin finished second in the girls 400 meters in 1:04.55.
  • Sarah Martin was third in 1:04.81.
  • Crestline’s Colten Keller ran a 53.71 in the boys 400 meters, for third place.
