High school girls hoops was back on tap Thursday night in the Northern 10 Conference as the Colonel Crawford Lady Eagles hosted the Lady Redman of Bucyrus. The Lady Eagles prevailed 46-38 to improve their record to 5-3 on the year, 3-2 in league play.

An excellent second quarter from Crawford and 16 first half points by Alexus Burkhart sent the teams to the break with the Lady Eagles on top 28 – 17.

Despite offensive surges from Bucyrus, the Lady Eagles held on for the eight-point win. Burkhart finished with 20 points and five steals with Ashley Gwirtz adding 16 points and seven rebounds. Colonel Crawford plays next on Thursday against Rigdedale at home.

Alivia Lewis led the way offensively for Bucyrus as the sophomore tailed 13 points and seven rebounds. The loss drops the Lady Redman to 3- 5 and 1-3 against the conference. They also are off until the 29th of December when they host Upper Sandusky.

Wynford’s offensive struggles continued as the Lady Royals dropped a 39-20 decision to Mohawk. Gretchen Harris led Wynford with 11 points. The Lady Royals are 2-6 and 2-3.

Beth Dundore had 17 for Mohawk and Chelsea Trusty added 11. Mohawk is 2-4 and 2-3.

In other N10 action on the girls side on Thursday, Buckeye Central defeated Ridgedale 79-48, and Upper Sandusky downed Seneca East by the final of 71-46.
