TIFFIN (Crawford County Now) — Bucyrus began its tennis season on the road, dropping the opening match, 5-0, to host Tiffin Columbian.
Lilian Engelhorn played first singles for the Lady Red and fell, 6-0, 6-0, to Leah Weingart. Leah Wahl defeated Meelah Marshall by the same score in second singles.
In first doubles, the Tornadoes’ Olivia Watson and Kenzie Felke got by Savannah Clark and Addie Weber, 6-0, 7-6 (7-5 in the tie breaker). Angela Nominee and Tara Duffy downed Mya Rothhaar and Maci Messerschmidt, 6-2, 6-1.
Zoey Allen took third singles by forfeit.
Bucyrus returns to the courts on Monday, facing Tiffin Calvert. Columbian hosts Vermilion, also on Monday.
