Buckeye Central survived a late Bucyrus rally last night to earn a 61-54 Northern 10 victory.

Trailing by as many as 17 points in the third period, Bucyrus got to within three points three times in the final period, but Buckeye Central made 15 of 22 final period free throws to pull out the seven-point victory.

Buckeye Central, now 10-6 overall and 8-5 in the conference, was led in scoring by Jenna Karl with 21 points. Courtney Pifher added 12 and Erin Baldosser finished with 10. Bucyrus scoring was led by Kelci Simms with 19 points and Ashton Hawkins with 14.

Bucyrus won the JV game 37-25. Bucyrus’ Kiana Zehner was the only player in double figures with 18.
