It was a back and forth battle in New Washington between Buckeye Central and Colonel Crawford Friday, but in the end the Buckettes emerged victorious.

The Buckettes stormed out of the gates taking a 19-8 first quarter lead. The trend continued into the second with Buckeye Central increasing their lead by 12, but the Lady Eagles came soaring back to take a 30-26 halftime lead.

The Buckettes came back to tie it at 39 apiece at the end of the third. After trading baskets in the fourth Buckeye Central pulled ahead for the 54-49 victory.

Buckeye Central’s Jenna Karl and Isabelle Biglin were both the game’s top scorers with 16 points. Haley Green added 12 points.

With the win the Buckettes improve to 11-6 on the season with a 9-5 N10 record.

Colonel Crawford was led by Alexus Burkhart’s 13 points. Kirsten Vehrs and Lexi Hoepf contributed 11 points each.

With the loss Colonel Crawford dropped to a 9-12 reocrd on the season with a 5-9 N10 record.

In other action around the county Wynford lost in overtime to Upper Sandusky 40-36, Carey defeated Bucyrus 76-56.
