It may have been cold outside, but over at Seneca East the Buckeye Central Buckettes were on fire Friday night. The Buckettes retained their undefeated streak dominating the Lady Tigers 72-53.

Both teams were undefeated going into the game with Buckeye Central entering with a 3-0 record and Seneca East a 2-0 record. From the opening tip, however, Buckeye Central took on the form of a well-oiled machine as they went into the half with a 41-19 lead.

Buckeye continued their dominance into the third with a 61-34 lead after the third quarter.

Buckeye Central’s Courtney Pifher led all scorers in the game with 24 points. Jenna Karl added 18 points as well as six steals.

Leading Seneca East scorers was Megan Seisel with 19 points and four steals. Marina Adachi added 15 points and five assists in the Lady Tigers’ efforts.

In other girls’ basketball action around the county Wynford edged out Ridgedale 61-60, Colonel Crawford defeated Mohawk 42-34, Bucyrus beat Crestline 38-28, and River Valley defeated Galion 59-14.

In non-county N-10 league play the Upper Sandusky Lady Rams ended the Carey Lady Blue Devils’ 51 game league winning streak 54-42. The last time Carey lost in league play was December 20, 2012.
