Seeking their ninth win of the season, the Graders looked to their bullpen for the solution.
They found it in Kip Brewer who made his first start of the season on Sunday afternoon as he went seven solid innings and only allowed one run on four hits and he struck out five. Sunday was just the first start for Brewer this season and he set the pace for a 9-1 trouncing of the Lorain County Ironmen.
The Grader offense was led by Riley Hawkins, who had four hits, two runs, and a RBI. Alex Laikos, Trevor Snyder, and Kevin Schrock each added two hits apiece, as the Grader offense exploded on the Ironmen pitching staff, tallying nine runs on 16 hits.
The Graders take the field again on Tuesday, July 12 as they take on the Xenia Scouts at Gradys Field. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m.
