W. Dean Davis, 84, of Mt. Gilead passed away November 15, 2018 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus.

Born July 1, 1934 in Morrow County, he was the son of the late Glen and Mary (Davis) Davis. He married Joyce Elaine Morton on December 20, 1953 and they enjoyed over 64 years together.

Dean served in the United States Army during the Korean War and worked for the former Perfection-Cobey for 27 ½ years and then for HS Automotive in Mansfield until retiring after 17 ½ years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping rebuilding Wheel Horse tractors and most recently going to truck pulls to watch his grandson pull.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Terry (Teresa) Davis of Edison, Tina (Clayton) Parsons of Seville and Trudy (Tom) Ray of Galion; four grandchildren, Nathan (Jill) Parsons of Ashland, Tiffany (Mike) Hirt of Mt. Gilead, Travis Davis of Wright Patterson Air Force Base and Chad Ray of Galion; four great grandchildren, Jack, Lynn, Riley and Morgan; sister, Dorothy Pfleiderer of Galion and a sister-in-law, Mary Cherrington of Edison.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by numerous brothers and a sister.

At his request private services will be held for the family with full military honors conducted by the United States Army and the Galion Crestline Veterans Military Funeral Detail.
