Clarence L. “Bud” Smith, 75, of Galion passed away Tuesday December 4, 2018 at home surrounded by his family.

Born January 16, 1943 in Bucyrus, he was the son of Harry Edward and Blanche Marie (Beach) Smith. He married Mary E. (Eusey) Smith on November 10, 1963 and she survives.

He was a graduate of North Robinson High School in 1961 and was a heavy equipment operator for Crawford Construction for 43 years retiring in 2004. Clarence was an active member and faithful servant of God with the St. Paul Lutheran Church in North Robinson where he also served on church council.

He enjoyed traveling, woodworking, building furniture for family, friends and church, fishing, farming and spending time with family. Clarence was a very loving and dedicated husband, father, son and brother.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Angie (Jeff) Dasher of Bucyrus and Genie (Tim) Raney of Lexington; four grandchildren, Brad Dasher, Lindsay Dasher, Mackenzie Raney and Bre Raney; one sister, Phyllis (Rodney) Burns of Morral; a brother, Ed (Tina) Smith of Galion, sister-in-law, Phyllis Decker of Galion, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bob & Shirley Ervin of Galion and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Dave Decker.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 16, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2307 Main Street North Robinson, Ohio 44827 where a memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 16 with Rev. Jarrod Schaaf officiating. A meal will follow the memorial service.
