Christopher “Chris” Henkel, 48 of Mansfield and Galion native passed away Thursday, July 23, 2020.
He was born December 25, 1971 in Galion and was the son of Russell M. and Janet (Rinehart) Henkel who survive in Galion.
Chris attended Pioneer Joint Vocational where he studied carpentry. He graduated from Galion High School in 1990. Chris worked hard as a self-employed carpenter. He enjoyed model cars, working and restoring cars and motorcycles and attending car shows and races. Chris loved spending time with his family and especially his grandson.
In addition to his parents, Chris is survived by daughter, Marissa (Marcus) Blair of Galion; grandson Mac Blair; brothers Russell W. (Lana) Henkel of Boiling Springs, North Carolina and Jeffery A. (Brandy Daley) Henkel of Republic, Ohio; four nephews, Jeremy, Jonathan, Wesley and Brannon Henkel; maternal grandmother Helen Rinehart of Galion; several aunts, uncles, cousins and a special friend, Ruth.
There will be a graveside service at Iberia Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness in care of the funeral home.
