Charles William “Bill” Windbigler, aged 71, passed away in the early hours of May 27, 2019.

Born September 24, 1947 to Myra JoAnn McCalla, Bill grew up and began school in Galion, OH.  Accompanying him to kindergarten was his neighbor, friend, and destined sweetheart, Fay Lee Ricker.  He and Fay grew up together and were married on May 21. 1966.  The went on to have two sons.

Bill was drafted into the United States Army in November 1966 and bravely served  in combat as a platoon RTO in the Vietnam War.  He was honorably discharged in 1968.  With a longtime passion for baseball, Bill rarely missed a Cleveland Indians game, and his dedication to the sport inspired him to coach the local youth baseball team from 1977 to 1984.

Bill worked as a custodian at The Ohio State University for 15 years where he retired in 2010.

With a genuine interest in people and the stories they had to tell, Bill had the ability to converse with a stranger as if they were lifelong friends.  This care and deep appreciation for those around him will be missed by many.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Fay Windbigler; two sons: Michael (Laura) Windbigler, Galion, Jeffery (Heather) Windbigler, Galion; his four grandchildren: Ashley (Caleb) Ekin, Erin Windbigler, Murissa Windbigler, and Holden Windbigler; and his two great-grandchildren: Lachlan Ekin and Eilidh Ekin.
