Barbara Jean (Strauch) Thompson, 76, of Galion passed away Friday, June 7, 2019 at Galion Community Hospital.
Born August 31, 1942 in Galion, she was the daughter of Harold and Dorothy (Shultz) Strauch. She married Harry L. Thompson on April 25, 2009 and he preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of Galion High School in 1961. Barbara was a member of First United Church of Christ in Galion where she has also sang in the choir. She was also a member of Order of Eastern Star in Upper Sandusky. She previously worked as director of Watkins Products and lastly worked at Schneider’s Bakery in Mansfield and Ontario Events Center in Ontario.
She is survived by three stepchildren, Mike (Juanita) Thompson of Galion, Pam (Rob) Eullett of Mansfield and John Thompson of Mansfield; six step grandchildren, Adam, Mathew, Cory, Megan, Brandon and Steven; step great grandchildren, Thomas; sister, Patricia Fruth of Iberia; nieces, Kathleen (Jeffrey) Stoll of Ashtabula and Josephine (Robert) Gosney of Omaha, Nebraska; nephew, Joseph (Maria Luz) Fruth of Cincinnati and great nephews, Joshua, Josiah, Marshall and Mitchell.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, Friday, June 14, 2019 at First United Church of Christ, 248 Harding Way West, Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, June 14, 2019 at First United Church of Christ with Rev. Darrin Harvey officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Crestline.
