Bucyrus police have reported that one of the women seriously injured when a motor scooter crashed late Sunday afternoon has died. Fifty-eight-year-old Linda Potter of Bucyrus died at the Toledo hospital she was flown to Sunday.
Potter was a passenger on the scooter driven by Marilyn Quaintance of Bucyrus. Quaintance was also flown to the hospital for treatment and there is no update on her condition.
Bucyrus police are still investigating the accident which occurred in the 1800 block of East Mansfield Street. No other vehicles were involved and the women were not wearing helmets. Police initially said a blown tire may have caused the scooter to go out of control.
