Press release

The choirs of Bucyrus United Methodist Church are sharing a musical tour of the “Gifts of Christmas” on Sunday, December 22 during the 10:30 a.m. worship service.

Come hear this 30-voice choir reveal the Christmas story in song and verse. Discover what wonderful gifts this blessed event gives to all of us, and how these gifts keep on going and keep on giving.

This program of lessons and carols is written by Jan Kocher. It “wraps up” the series of advent messages by Pastor Mike Corwin, which focused on the gifts brought by the wise men to the infant Jesus. Organist and choir director Karen Scott says, “This telling of the Christmas story acknowledges the many gifts from our Lord for which we should all be thankful. Our choir members are humbled to give their gifts of talent to the glory of God.”

In addition to the chancel choir, the program features the Chimes Choir, directed by Cheryl Wagner, soloists Sharon Hahn and Phil Harris with accompanist Carolyn Myers, and congregational singing with accompanist Becky Smith.

The Bucyrus UMC Worship Center is located at 227 W. Walnut St., Bucyrus. The congregation is led by Pastors Mike Corwin and Don Kraps. Sunday worship services are held at 8:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. The Worship Center is handicapped accessible. A staffed nursery is available.
