NEWS RELEASE:

Two students from the Bucyrus City Schools will represent the district during the Tri-County Spelling Bee at 6:30 p.m. at the Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center (MOESC) Thursday, Feb. 8. This event is free and open to the public.

Ashley Davis (8th grade) and Rosalyn Johnson (8th grade) finished in the Top 12 of the Crawford County Spelling Bee at Bucyrus High School Jan. 11.

“All of our students worked hard to prepare themselves for the Crawford County Spelling Bee,” said Carrie Wood, Gifted Coordinator. “The district’s representatives will prepare with their teachers and parents to help hone their spelling skills for the regional competition at MOESC Feb. 8.”

In addition to finishing in the Top 12 of the county spelling bee, Rosalyn Johnson will represent Bucyrus in the Scripps Online Spelling Bee in hopes of qualifying for the Ohio Regional Bee.

“I want to congratulate all of our students for a strong showing at the county spelling bee last month,” said Kevin Kimmel, Bucyrus Superintendent. “We wish the district representatives to the Tri-County Spelling Bee the best of luck in the competition.”
