Wednesday’s storm left North Robinson residents with no way in or out of the community and it had nothing to do with high water although there was plenty of that.
Trees were blown over and across Ohio 602 at both the north and south ends of town effectively shutting the village off until members of the Whetstone Volunteer Fire Department were able to cut up the trees and move the debris off the roadway. Utility lines were also downed throughout the village and at least one car was damaged after being hit by sheets from a metal roof that had been blown off.
The Colonel Crawford campus was also hit with several limbs down. The giant oak just south of the football stadium that is more than 100 years old was also a victim of the storm. The tree was snapped completely off and revealed it was nearly hollow at its base.
